This media storage unit was borne out of the client’s desire for a fully functional yet visually striking piece of contemporary furniture. The core concept was to construct a unit to conceal C.D’s, D.V.D’s and media equipment that is essential in any modern household. The firebox at one end of the room was positioned to reflect the wall-mounted plasma T.V. at the other. A seating area was incorporated into the design as well as a place to display family artefacts. Thus the formerly separate drawing room and lounge areas have been merged to create a large family room that still has space to find relaxation. Design; W Fancourt
